Notably Proficient Music, an independent record label, was established in 1992 by music producer and DJ, Trent A. Spears. Professionally known as DJ Supreme, he started creating his own music as a symphonic and jazz trumpet player for Kealing Junior High School in Austin, Texas, under the direction of musician and band director Walter Shaw. Spears went on to Lyndon B. Johnson High School where he continued to excel in the jazz and marching bands under the direction of legendary band director, Don T. Haynes. Throughout high school, DJ Supreme produced hip-hop music and hosted parties, becoming a well-known urban artist and DJ in Austin, Texas, Nashville, Tennessee, and New York, New York. Supreme performs and produces in a wide range of music genres, including Hip Hop, R&B, spoken word, and movie soundtrack productions. His studio began in the garage of a Northeast Austin, Texas home in the early 1990's and was later re-located to Nashville, Tennessee, during his matriculation at Fisk University.
In 2002, DJ Supreme moved back to Austin, Texas where he established a production and recording facility to constantly evolve, and improve the signature sound of Notably Proficient Music. In 2010, Supreme began mentoring under a long time friend and hip-hop legend, Tee Double, owner and producer at Kinetic Global and founder of the Urban Artist Alliance. While mentoring under and performing with Tee Double, DJ Supreme shared the stage with artists like Del the Funky Homosapien, Rakim, Nelly, and Enrique Iglesias. In 2013, DJ Supreme performed on Tito's Vodka stage during Austin's Fan Fest in conjunction with the Circuit of the Americas Formula I Inaugural Weekend. He also hosted and opened the X Games for Austin's "Rally at the Capitol". In March 2014, DJ Supreme began working on the debut album of spoken word artist, Sunni Soper. Titled "For Public Consumption," Soper's album was efficiently and proficiently released by Notably Proficient Music in August of 2014.
